(Quick Review #6)
Listen: #1

I must start this out by saying I don't personally enjoy Illmatic. Don't kill me, I definantly respect the album and the lyrical depth of it, but I just don't personally enjoy the album sonically. I think Nas' voice isn't that great on this album, and I don't personally like the production of the album. But once again, I totally respect the album. Now that that's out of the way, Life is Good.

I enjoyed Life is Good quite a bit. Though I felt that it ran a bit long, I definantly thought it was a good album. I liked the songs that were more personal songs of Nas like Bye Baby and Daughter. It was interesting, especially Daughter to hear a song about a kid that didn't come off as corny or just uninteresting, and instead is a great song with more lyrical depth than "I love you". This and Illmatic are the only Nas albums I have heard as of now, and this has definantly made me more interested in checking out the rest of his library.
