Neil Landstrumm moves from Peacefrog to Tresor for his second album, UNDERSTANDING DISINFORMATION, and here, his interest in melody, as well as rhythm, becomes more distinct. The lower reaches of "Twisted In New York" provide him with more texture to play with than on his debut, and while "Praline Horse" brings back some of the harshness of his debut, he's plays with pulling out and bringing it back in much more skillfully. The sparse start of "Invasion Of The Bovine Snatchers" soon gives way to a subdued craze atop, while "The Glasvegas Experience" keeps things moving from the start. "Pirate," too, holds its hands steady on the rudder, and the echoing "S:Board Crash//ZX-81" shoots right into outer space for "Nasty And Suspicious Nature" to linger there, plotting its revenge. A more accomplished work than his debut, definitely.

Neil is absolutely brutal in his releases. This one is no different. This isn't easy music to get to understand, but it is important music to get to understand. This is the type of music that will be appreciated in 30 years.
