Neil Young ‎– Time Fades Away

While not strictly an official release, this one is neither strictly a bootleg copy. It was apparently sent out as a promotional copy for an up-and-coming CD reissue - but in typical Neil Young fashion, he pulled out of his decision to re-release this album at the last minute (to the annoyment of many fans). Fans would have to wait year for this album to see a vinyl reissue, and years more before a CD copy was released (it's STILL yet to be release as a standalone CD at the time of writing this). For this reason I find this copy, while not part of Neil's standard official series, an interesting addition to my collection. The sound quality of this release is perfect, and the music itself is brilliant (it's really odd why Neil has such disdain for it to be honest!).

The sad part is there are a lot of good songs on that LP. Radio stations will play 'Don't Be Denied', but there's 'Journey Thru The Past', 'Love In Mind' & another that I can't recall.
I have a version from 'Roaring Mouse' label I bought in 2003 that has both 'Time Fades Away' & 'On the Beach' on 1 CD-R (before the latter was re-issued). They used the original LP covers. One on front, other on the back. When listening to it you can hear that the sound is from an LP. No skips & an enjoyable listening experience.

Never Officially released on CD-cause Neil wants it that way! When describing his thoughts about releasing the LP at the time, he claims he wanted to use the shittiest material available for the sleeve so it would decompose quickly..Gotta love Neil Young.
