This still sounds interesting today (2008) - the Madchester sound taken in a distinctively new direction. I like the bongos battling Dolan Hewison's guitar. For sure it's danceable but the obscure lyrics (sometimes spat out angrily by Andy Spearpoint), make you think too. The album works as a whole with moody instrumental tracks dotted throughout and tracks which really had an impact on me are 'I'll take you to sleep', 'Stockholm' and 'It's not what you know'. In fact the whole album is pretty moody. The later experimentations with dance music were also great, but this album is the New FADS' finest moment.
