Let's see: German duo on M_nus. It's probably going to be minimal. And sure enough, the clicking percussion of "Bahnhof Deutz/Messe" is accompanied by a single chord, a vocal sample, and a slippery bassline. "Zollstock" follows the same pattern, without the vocals, but the longer sustained chords on "Drehbrücke" add a bit more warmth as it ends on a looped train sample. Indeed, the album as a whole seems dedicated to the idea of mass transit as "Autobahn" chugs along like a car on the... well, you know, and "Barbarossaplatz" makes a subway stop somehow more engaging. "Sülzgürtel" and "Ostheim" both go along a darker route before "Kalk-Kapelle" takes a few notes from the dub techno page before the darkness returns on "Stadion." It certainly does get you moving!
