Supraphon Release Information

In 1981, Petr Janda and Zdeněk Rytíř found a forcible theme in terms of music and lyrics alike, one also generating a number of hits. It is impossible to imagine a selection of Olympic’s most significant pieces that doesn’t include Okna mé lásky (The Window of My Love) or Já (I), and it is difficult to forget the concert presentation of the electrifying reggae of the song Paní Nostalgie (Madam Nostalgia) or the ominous Černá mše za nukleárního boha (Black Mass for the Nuclear God), with huge inflatable balls on stage.

The essential words Life, Love, Success, Fear, Solitude, Selfishness, Hate and Hindsight were afforded an Olympic musical form, this time more song-like and straightforward than in the case of the previous art-rock album Prázdniny na Zemi (Holiday on Earth).

The stylish booklet, sound remastered from the original tapes and a set of ten bonus tracks, including a taste from last year’s Olympic CD Trilogy… The latest instalment of the re-edition series of albums that played a significant role in Czech rock history.

The legendary album Ulice (Street) in our Gold Edition, under the lucky number 7!

Kalemegdan Disk Additions

Prázdniny na zemi (recorded 1979) and Ulice (recorded 1981) were Olympic’s best two albums, both offering progressive Rock. Both albums were originally released with Czech as well as with English lyrics. The bonus material on this album are six songs taken from singles recorded from 1981 to 1983, one song from the live LP Olympic v Lucerně and three more songs with similar material recorded in 2006. The packing (an extensive booklet combined with a slipcase) is convincing again.
