"Simon wat ate [? ? ?] Davey" is on the run out (as well as the usual), on the Y side... don't know what this means; curious!

Foul play v.i.p mix Is the one. It got released on the omni trio album... The deepest cut !
The original foul play remix got smashed to bits, so this mix is a breath of fresh air. Think it came out late 94 or early 95

Another tune crying out for a review. The Foul Play Remix of Omni Trio's Renegade Snares is still regarded as one of the most recognisable and important jungle tunes of all time. Still played a lot even today, twenty or so years on. I think it really goes to show how influential both Rob Haigh (Omni Trio), and the Moving Shadow label were, and still are, on UK dance music. Renegade Snares (Foul Play Remix) was realeased on this original 10" version and repressed as part of the Moving Shadow 15 year anniversary series. If I were in the market for a copy of this release today, I would get the 10" original. I bought a copy of the MS anniversary series - the remix EP of Lords of the Null Lines a few months ago. The Foul Play remix of that track definitely sounds better on the original 10" release than it does on the 12" anniversary repress. I suspect that it may well be the case with this release too. To be honest, I only have the 10" version of this release, not the anniversary release, so I may be wrong. If all you are after is a copy to spin, the anniversary series will be fine. The Foul Play remix is also available on the Hard Leaders 4 (Into the Jungle) album, and I think it's also on one of the Kickin' Records Six Pack samplers too. You will pay for the original 10" release, especially if it's in mint or near mint condition. And more so if it comes in the original picture sleeve. This really is such a great release. The flip side is no slouch either. Released on Candidate and Moving Shadow, the 'Feel Good (Original in Demand Mix)' is also another classic Omni Trio offering. This was released a couple of times and remixed a few times before this release, but is still a worthy flip to the A side. Worth every penny. Buy this now.

Renegade Snares - Foul Play remix has to be one of the greatest remix's in the history of jungle drum and bass. The chopped up breaks and almost haunting Take me up vocal are the stand out elements of the track and it is also a joy to mix in any jungle set. Even today it goes off on the dancefloor in current drum and bass thanks to Andy C teasing it in his sets.
