This one probably deserves to be worth so much because it's literally one of the three best
early punk records of all time!!! (Along w/ "Pay2Cum" by Bad Brains, & "Wasted" by Black Flag)
I used to have this when I was a kid!! OPUS (9) was a very short lived, but killer punk band
from LA (Silverlake/Echo Park area) where I grew up.(They later changed their name to "The Smog Marines"). Anyway, One of the band members lived up the street from me, and
I was friends with his little brother Sean. We sat next to each other in
5th, and 6th grade class. He knew I was starting to get more into punk rock at the time.
So one day I'm over at his house after school, and he hands me a copy of this record
and say's, “Hey, do you want this record that my brothers band just made? I think
you’ll probably like it because it's punk rock, and you like that stuff, right?
he gave it to me, but I really don’t like it too much because all my brother's friends act like
stupid jerks when they come over to watch his band practice in the garage. They always
get all drunk on beer, and then tell me they’re gonna beat me up for no reason.
So I’m like all, “yeah sure, I’ll take it” Needless to say it was the first real underground
punk record I ever owned. I Loved it. Wish to hell I still had my old copy. I really had
no idea this one was going for this kind of $$$$, until today.
