Not sure what to think of this pressing. The first copy I purchased had a significant "squiggle" scratch on the last two tracks (it was pretty bad) with a couple more light scuff/hairlines. So I purchased a second copy, and it was even worse...several nick scratches on both sides and multiple hairlines. Some light "whoosh" on the pressing (only audible in the quiet parts), and definitely dusty/dirty right out of the sleeve. And speaking of which....HEY, record labels, STOP putting your vinyl in these heavy-ass printed inner sleeves. I can hear the vinyl scrape-squeaking when I try and remove them, and when I do remove them, it creates a ton of static. For the love of GOD, package the vinyl in safe, generic sleeves. Anyway, I don't know if it's just dumb luck how crappy my two copies were, or if there is a larger, quality control issue at play here, but count me disappointed. Still, the pressing does sound pretty damn good and a solid 180g for sure, though the bass seems a little lost in the mix (maybe it was always that way). And yes, like a lot of people have been saying, CLEAN this one before you play it. It needs it. Then again, I recommend doing that on all your new records. Overall, worth getting if you can't afford an original, but take a close look at it as soon as you open it up!

I returned mine, there was a warp on the first track (rid of me) it plays but records should be flat, right? The copy I exchanged had the same flaw. I think I might give up buying new vinyl.

Sounds great. This is one of my favorite albums and I had the CD version before. It's amazing how tribal and Zeppelin-like the drums sound and the vinyl really brings that out along with the separation of the guitars. The drums sound like they are being "dropped" rather than struck if that makes any sense. Rather dry album recording wise compared to others, but the bass and drums are awesome.

perfect copy for me. Amazing reissue considering the price (25$ canadian).

The amount of surface noise on side A is totally uncacceptable for such a dynamic record. What a shame.

My copy is flawless. Sounds absolutely brilliant, especially "Rub Til It Bleeds" and really all of Side A. For those who got bad copies, I got mine from Rough Trade UK if you want to try them.

All three (Dry, Rid of Me and To Bring you my love) are stunning reissues so far! I hope they will keep the same quality.

I had the same issues with surface noise and pops/clicks throughout my copy (variant 2.) I ran it through the cleaner 3 times and let it soak on 2 of the cleanings to really try to get it as clean as possible, but it didn't help to the degree that it sounded 'clean.' I'd give this a VG or low VG+ rating even after the cleanings. This copy also had rough edges on about 3/4 of the disc. I grabbed another copy (variant 3) and this one is very nearly perfectly silent right out of the package (no cleaning necessary but I ran it through once after playing it first because that's my usual habit) and has smooth edges. I'd give this one a M- rating.

There were so many pops and surface noise on Rid Of Me that it ruins the entire song while being played. This is also definitely not 180 gram vinyl.
