While viewed as his first album, Jean Sullivan's liner notes indicate his first album was the Hula Records album featuring the Sunday Manoa as backing musicians, so "Hawaiian Love Songs" is his second release. His vocal style here is a mixture of pop crooning and traditional Hawaiian. The pop side would go away as he began to record and release music in the 1970's.
