Some people tend to tag anything that's German rock these days as Krautrock. Either such people are misinformed or have no idea and just list Krautrock as a key tag because maybe it will sell? This album's a case of my point. Panama Red are about as un-Krautrock as German rock could be in the late-70's/early-80's. A clue is in the name. Panama Red were basically a pretty straight American style hard rock band, with a hint of Louisiana blues, and other north/central American influences. Basically like many a Californian or Texan type band a decade earlier. I won't go into comparisons. Good for what they do. But, Krautrock? No way José!
