This attempt to bring back the goa vibe in the field of d'n'b hits right !
No fake bass and fx here. No ugly frequencies. Definitely not the emptiness of the nu-school, ridiculous and second-rate for the most part, more interested by the smell of money...
Refreshing the connection between two styles that never really led to unforgettable masterpieces (except maybe for some smashing pioneering ones in the "Science of the gods" album by Eat Static and also some under their disguise Dendron) is a rather interesting aim.
Small spirits would say it's no longer innovative and I'd agree on the fact these two russian newcomers aren't the first to cross over. But I certainly disagree with the opinion this record doesn't emerge high above mainstream !

"Something sick" is an instant shock of dark atmospherics, outstanding dramatic psytrance arpeggio, fat ominous bass and full on fast drumline that includes a clever "scratch" pattern. The whole result is devastating...

"Break through" sounds a little lighter but does well too, breaking from the actual poor quality standards of the scene and again superbly using goa flava.

Remember:
this one will survive to its present time and be sought after many years later...
By those who knew.
