Paul McCartney ‎– McCartney III

My Indie White LP version has number 9315 from 11000. I also don't understand very well why to much different pressing of this nice album but I guess that most young people now listen music with streaming so maybe Capitol tried to make this release more funny to catch fans and potential new vinyl lovers.

For me this record is a good example of how the record companies want to pull the money out of our pockets with limited editions. Because this record is available in many different versions, different covers, different colors and each of them is offered as a limited edition, which for me ultimately leads to this statement from being absurd and besides, we forget what it really is about, the music

Regarding the actual music, McCartney continues his 21st Century roll with a riveting album that's similar to, yet fairly distinct from his recent triumphs. We are incredibly lucky to keep getting new music from this guy. I'm not quite as pleased with the marketing (read: desperation for chart placement) and all the colored vinyl permutations. That said, my one question/complaint about the white Indie edition is, where is the poster? It was advertised at the bottom of the original announcement, but my copy, picked up at a local store, did not come with one. Am I alone here? Did everyone else get a poster? I see copies on eBay with what has to be the correct poster. It's black and white, probably 12" x 18" and very similar to the one shown in the announcement for the red Third Man edition but with Paul on drums in the photo.

i have UK white vinyl pressing No.6915. Only had chance to give it a clean, then 1 listen through for any issues, i'm pleased to say that although a little domed, by screwing down my top platter weight very firmly (on flat pressings it simply rests on the record) it played well. Not at all crackley and quiet but not silent, which i'd put down to the normal quality of a "regular label" pressing, i don't know where this was pressed ? if anyone else does i for one would be interested to know ....certainly not Optimal (Europe) or RTI (USA) , as it would of been silent if by them. The music itself i found interesting and it will certainly get some airtime on my TT over the coming months, well done Paul.

I have a UK white vinyl pressing. No.5691. I like the album. The pressing is just okay. Fairly noisy and crackly. A shame especially at £30.

Here's a puzzler about the Indie White LP version. Originally it was stated that there would be 4000 issued in the USA (0001 to 4000) and 4000 in the UK (4001 to 8000). If that is still the case, why is there a 5 digit number indicting the number issued? To add to that, has anyone else had trouble deciphering the hand numbering, mine reads as 7˄85 / ˄˄000. What number are the inverted 'V's supposed to represent?
