The tune that made Acid House popular. Probably one of the best acid loops I've heard in a track. Sure acid house was around but this track really made it popular in the clubs.

I'm still amazed that members of 2 synthpop bands (ABC & FGTH) from the early '80s could make a cutting edge underground club classic.

Happy Face is 6:50 not 4:24 (just like the CD single [Paul Rutherford - Get Real]).

Get real (Happy House Mix) is an absolute Acid house classic, from 1989 it still sounds fresh now. Trust me if you like classic acid house or tough, slightly alien sounding house in general you with love this. Lee Coombs loves old acid house and this is one of his and Ivan Smagghe's-Blackstrobe faves. It was also the track used on DJ History website and Bill Brewster turned me onto it. Once you have it in your life you won't know how your collection was complete without. As a DJ I try and find any excuse to play it.

Classic classic acid house here . Repetative ascending acid lines , snare on the 2nd and 4th beat , haunting warm lush pads and at times an almost vitriolic vocal from paul rutherford are a strange mix , but boy do they work !. The first half of the track is very hypnotic and builds very nicely to a tougher ending .Towards the end the speak and spell vocal asks us ' Are u happy ? 'in comes the 2nd (or 3rd ?) 303 , the claps from the 808 kick in and the track is suddenly giving you a bit of a beating !. The only bad thing is that this doesnt continue a bit longer to a tremendous head mashing acid crescendo .One to definately own !
