This could have been another great album from Penta, and if you like the full-on style rolling bassline, you will probably think it is. As for me, that full-on bassline just does my head in - and on this album its the same one on every...single...track.

A shame, because I loved all Of Penta's previous albums, and on 'Portuguese Abduction' over that irritatingly relentless bassline sits the wacky and innovative work that Penta are known for - those trippy, unpredictable samples are at their best and most bizarre here.

Anyway, I give this a 3/5 - those who love dark full-on psy should get a kick out of this, but those (like me) looking for something a little less drilling-in-your-ears and a little more proggy will probably want to throw something at the stereo halfway through the second track.
