The 800-pound ACID GORILLA of the underground acid/loner/downer/edge folk scene, Perry Leopold's
masterful album was a legend already in the 1980s, and remains the yardstick against which all
newcomers are measured, and usually found lacking. Reportedly recorded in a psychedelic mind-state,
the album radiates an indescribable atmosphere of visionary clarity and bohemian despair. Seemingly
without effort Leopold moves from a broken vagabond lament into 500 microgram LSD revelations of
cosmic secrets, without missing a beat. The instrumental acoustic guitar passages are more psychedelic
than 5 layers of Sgt Pepper studio effects. Perry invented "acid folk" (meaning genuinely psychedelic
folk, not goofy nursery rhymes) and he put it on the label for the world to see. Simply an incredible
LP, which like all the truly heavy private press classics delivers an experience that simply cannot be
found on any other record...Only 300 copies were pressed up and it was instantly sold out upon release.
This reissue is actually a bit of a rarity in its own right, having sold for $150+ on occasion. Very
nicely done repro job from you-know-who in Britain, who in addition to the snazzy gold-flake cover also
took the trouble of putting together a custom insert with photos and ads, including one pic that shows
Perry with Bruce Springsteen! Who's the boss now? Look at the walls of the universe...
