I'm glad to see I'm not the 'only' person who thought WTF is THIS after getting it home ?
U take a selection of their re-mixes and blend them altogether into one seamless mix = badly.
Disco [1 !] was un-mixed, so Why was this ?
Was EMI making too much profit off their Singles....a n d to put them out on 'an album' would have killed off their 12'' Singles sales ?
IF there's e v e r an UN-Mixed release of this, I might be interested !

To me, the worst Pet Shop Boys compilation ever released.
I like all those PSB remixes in their original full length form, and I must admit that some mixed transitions between a few tracks are quite good (from track 5 to 6, or 10 to 11 for example), but that's far from enough to make a good megamix compilation.
As a DJ, Danny Rampling had to adjust the tempo of each track to fade into one another. As a result, songs like "Go West" and "Liberation" are accelerated way too much with no pitch correction. Apart from being far from the true sound of the original remixes, it makes the vocals sound Donald Duck-ish. Unbearably and sadly hilarious.
Furthermore, the megamix has clearly been mixed out of vinyl material, you can hear typical vinyl background noise on some tracks (So Hard). It doesn't meet CD quality standards at all.
As a Pet Shop Boys collector I own that record, but I can't help laughing each time I play this. This is so not serious, almost a bootleg record to me which doesn't deserve the "Disco 2" name at all.

Yet another mix CD with amazing content and sub-par mixing.

Remixes of Pet Shop Boys tracks have always stood the test of time, and been very much at the top of the heap when it comes to originality and production value. The tracks on this disc are no exception. The mixing is horrible though - it's filled with badly timed mixes and abrupt slams - especially between tracks 9 and 10. There was more than enough room to include all the tracks in their full length, as most mixes are missing more than half of their content.

Disco 2 is really great, great to listen and dance to. It's not fair to compare it with Disco, it's from completely different era. The biggest problem for me is that I really don't understand the E Smoove's so-called remix of Liberation, because I haven't found anything in common with the original. Thus, I wouldn't call it a remix. I have to say, however, that the E Smoove's Liberation fits in well. The following track change is maybe the most exciting one on the compilation... A must have for people interested in remixes and PSB.

In my opinion, this was much better than Disco, as it had some nice remixes from the Very album. Remixers like David Morales, Junior Vasquez, E-Snoove and Beatmasters did a great job on the remixes, so why not showcase them. I do agree though the mix should have been a lot longer, and an unmixed version would have been very cool indeed. Danny Rampling didn't do a bad job - but I felt he could have worked them tracks a bit more, but they were probably too long. The end track is just the climax to a great mix. I still play this CD to this day.
