From correspondence with Peter Trappen 2017:
"This whole project was a calling card of sorts as you’ll see I had my address printed on the label. I was 23 or 24 at the time and knew the drummer, but had just met the bass player who came recommended. In fact I misspelled his name on the label, s/b Hal Beveridge. It was all a bit of fun and it turned out pretty well. I sold maybe 600 copies all in all. It was the 70s (1977) and we had no experience in publishing or copyrights etc. no internet to network with or get info. There was one DJ in Grand Rapids MI that played the heck out of it and still does on occasion. The song is a kind of protest song, written from a ducks point of view.
I had $500 to do a session in an afternoon and we pretty much nailed 3 songs. I still have the master tape, it’s a 2 inch 16 track reel. There was a middle section that wouldn’t fit on a 45 that would be nice to recapture someday. I did a newer version in 2007 as an acoustic loop with a new verse which is cool but doesn’t have the impact."
