I was fortunate enough to be able to compare this reissue to the original release. My wife's parents have the original album.
While the reissue sounds great, the original was definitely louder and has a bit of a fuller sound.

Overall, it's a great reissue. In the absence of the original album it's definitely worth picking up, but if you ever find the original, I would prefer that one.

As far as materials go, the textured gatefold does tend to stick when opening it. It hasn't caused any damage yet, but I do wonder how it will hold up.

Such a fantastic reissue. In some ways cleaner and more detailed than the original. All of the Floyd reissues from 2016 seem to be exceptional.

The US copy that I have is wonderful. Side 1 is extra special. Quiet vinyl and great sonics. 5 *****

A-side = NM. B1 has four slight multi-rev flaws/tics. gatefold is a nice texture inside and out BUT it is the cheap type that "pinches" stuff put inside of it when closed (inner sleeve & hype stickers i save). i prefer the original non-textured band photo inside gatefold. another pet peeve is that i hate the spine font. sound quality on this release is better than that found on Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother.

"echoes" has surface noise and a disappointment considering this is a new pressing

Beautifully textured gatefold cover. Vinyl is beautiful, sound is stellar. Nice to have an affordable easy to find option of a classic album. This album looks and plays like someone actually wanted this reissue to turn out nice.
