For many years, this double-LP was one of the most popular albums in Pink Floyd's pre-Dark Side of the Moon output, containing a live LP and a studio LP for the price of one. The live set, recorded in Birmingham and Manchester in June 1969, is limited to four numbers, all drawn from the group's first two LPs or their then-recent singles. Featuring the band's second lineup (i.e., no Syd Barrett), the set shows off a very potent group, their sound held together on-stage by Nick Mason's assertive drumming and Roger Waters' powerful bass work, which keep the proceedings moving no matter how spaced out the music gets.

I have a Ummagumma, UK first issue with matrix numbers on side 1, A1 G1, side two, B2 M1, side three, A1 M1, and side four, B2 M1. Have anyone seen these matrix/stampers before? I have contacted `Pink Floyd discographies page`, but they have no idea what kind of issue this is. I have compared these records, with other UK A1 B2 A1 B2 issues, and everything looks exactly the same.

"Careful With That Axe Eugene"
(and some of the rest of the LIVE-LP)
is the reason why PINK FLOYD
became so very very great then.
Still a very spooky piece of music.
(Close your eyes and hear it loud.)

A number of these UK versions have spelling mistakes on the label track lists. I've noted a few below but there may be more. Not sure if any other countries had these errors but thought it was worthy of a mention.
1. On side 2: Set The Conthrols For The Heart Of The Sun (should be Controls)
2. On side 4: The Gand Vizier's Garden Party (should be Grand)
3. On back of sleeve some versions have London misspelled as Londen.
As far as I know these crop up just the once on various copies (I've never seen copies with more than one of these errors but that's not to say there aren't any!).

Although the album cover claims: "Live Album recorded at Mothers Birmingham & Manchester College Of Commerce June 1969" the actual dates are: Mothers, Birmingham, on April 27 1969 and Manchester College Of Commerce on May 2 1969.
