is there a consensus... are these fake... or archived wrong by the user?
1766 own with only 750 were pressed.
I think people are buying a fake repress.

Heads up to any owners of this record - the idiots at 4ad are using pvc wallets for some of their releases, these will degrade over time & give off gasses which may ruin the surface of the vinyl. More info on pvc sleeve damage can be found on the Discogs forum's, it's not a myth.

Oh wait, after all that, forgot to note that I wish this compilation had No. 13 Baby on it, but it doesn’t so I guess I have to now go drop the big bucks on the MoFi Doolittle after all.

This is one of the best sounding records in my collection. If you’re even a casual fan of Pixies it’s well worth the sticker price of (usually) under $30. Maybe there’s a negative stigma out there around vinyl reissues of Greatest Hits compilations from the 90s and 00s that were originally issued on CD. So if you were flipping past this thinking you’ll one day splurge and drop the 200 quid on MoFi pressings of Surfer Rosa, Doolittle and Bossa Nova, my advice is just buy this for now and start enjoying these tunes again right away. Life’s too short, and your hearing’s the first thing to ‘go’, sadly. Chances are you’ve got a much better setup for sound now than you did when your buddy taped these albums for you in 92 and you played the shit out of it on your Sanyo shelf-saver mini-system with auto rewind. I’m ranting now. 5 stars for the folks at 4AD on this pressing.

didn't know this band in its days but was always intrigued and bought this today
@ Red Cat. i read the other reviews here and thought it's worth a flyer, i'm NOT disappointed.
even at first listen i'm addicted to "monkeys to heaven" and a couple of others.
vinyl is great, very very quiet with good dynamics, nice bass and all that other hifi stuff we like.

When Pixies hit their mark they are essentially an unstoppable sonic powerhouse, and every cut on this 'Best Of' comp is stellar. Must agree with the earlier reviewer in terms of the sound quality on this double LP set being top notch. Couple that with every track being a classic, and you have a sweet little package.

Is there really only 750 copies of this? How's it not worth a small fortune?
