Quite an unusual release: Serket L distinctly recalls Plaids latest album work and is IMO the strongest on the EP weaving an intricate beat and ethereal vocals. Serket G very forward thinking and playful. Conserv reminds me of a hark back to plaids V. early stuff recalling a funk feel first touched upon on the Rising High ep.s and BDP era. - As to be expected all incredibly well produced and a level of drum intricacy of true plaid classics.
Right that's the Music out the way..
Good to see a new label with the equipment manufacturer, Well pressed, if a little warped and arrived nicely on time. My only qualm... what the HELL did they coat the thing in before shipping? It smells fresh, I will say that. Don't leave near any open windows or radiators as due to the strong emanating solvent smell you're likely to get seriously high. Seems to spread to other vinyls kept next to it not wrapped in plastic, so leave it in a corner for a couple of days before added to the rest of your plaid collection or they're likely to go the same way. I'm guessing this issue will end as the label matures (pardon the pun).
