Primal Scream ‎– Dixie-Narco EP

Genre:

Year:
Notes:
Released February, 1992, the "Dixie-Narco EP" was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, and allowed Primal Scream to indulge their love of U.S. music history. Lead track "Movin' On Up" is the group's gospel-tinged attempt to recreate the Rolling Stones' sound circa the album "Exile On Main Street", but updated for the post-acidhouse generation. It is mixed by veteran producer/mixing engineer Jimmy Miller, who had worked with the Stones. The song "Carry Me Home" is cover of a song by Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys. "Screamadelica" is a long, blissful track of balearic-influenced indie-dance with lead vocals by Denise Johnson, and, despite its name, the song did not actually appear on the album of the same title. The EP title "Dixie-Narco" was taken from a U.S.-based manufacturer of beverage vending machines.

I love Primal Screams album Screamadelica as do millions of other people across the globe! So, on this EP you will find Screamadelica as a single that was not on the album!? I have no idea why - as albums with a title, 9 times out of 10 will consist of a single with the same name! But fortunately it pops up as a extra on a single, like this & thank god! Screamadelica as a single is absolutely different class - with that Balearic feel & at 10+ minutes takes you where the album takes you - on a journey! This tune sums up the whole album for me & is the missing piece from a jigsaw puzzle that is..... Screamadelica!!
