I.C. Water is a neat new wave song with a heartfelt vocal delivery from Genesis P-Orridge, done in the memory of Ian Curtis.
Musically more interesting to me is the B-side, Alien Be-In. Psychic TV were extremely prolific acid house producers, and from the part of the tunes I've heard this is their most engaging and deep one. Voices, deep noises and ambient elements are constantly hovering through this tune, during the first part set in contrast to a slick techno beat and synth bass line; then a breakbeat kicks in and slowly leads the track to its slightly melodic climax. Police radio type samples like 'These are not humans' are kept back in the mix and are well placed.
A winner which doesn't sound dated 15 years after its production!
