Dakini Records is widely regarded as releasing high quality zen-downbeat music since 1998. In a genre specific point of view one can divide the label's discography into two main categories: zen-ambient and zen-chillout. Puff Dragon's Sazanami belongs to this latter one.

Sazanami contains eight brilliant tracks, and they set up a very clever logic in rhythm: a dynamic track is followed by a slower one, then another again with more tempo and so. In the aspect of mood Sazanami isn't a very passionate disc in the meaning of not crossing through all the emotions, no matter positive or negative. Every single track has a kind of the same, but definitely not boring feeling, a lazy and bright scent, and yet very hypnotizing. (Steve Good made some trance music before, and his orientation in repetitive music can be recognised pretty well here in mind-twisting, spiralling loops and effects, especially on Chinese Radio, Spacefunk and Shimmer.)

No need for long reviews, three simple words can precisely describe Puff Dragon's debut album: emotional, warm and smart. Therefore, Sazanami is a lovely and delightful work with top mastering and - as always - amazing cover artwork by Keiku (who also sings on Qi Gong!). One of Dakini's best releases, and one of the most intelligent chillout music.
