The Motiv-8 remix of Common People is a life affirming call to arms to every working class British lad who has ever been on the receiving end of a government's uninterest.

This is not the original version, the indie-rock version that a select few kids could relate to. This is the Eurodance remix by Motiv-8 that struck a chord with 16-year-old kids like me who still wore adidas tracksuits and thought Radiohead were f**king boring c**ts.

Yes, times change people. I changed. But listening back to the Motiv-8 remix of Common People I am reminded of a situation that has probably not changed for 16-year-old kids in 2011 either.

This music would probably make kids of today laugh in embarrassment, but the sentiment is exactly the same.

So sing along with the common people. If all you do is dance, drink and screw (because there's nothing else to do) don't think it's the end of the world.

Because there's a whole load of people going through the exact same thing.

This one comes with the controversial artwork that made the newspaper pages and was withdrawn from some shops as it displays on the front cover an envelope-shaped "wrap" for holding certain types of powdered substances (ref. the title!), and on folding out the inlay one can find instructions on how to create just such a wrap.
