||I Try So Hard
BMI credits Harrisburg, PA deejay Paul Landersman as the writer of both sides. The identity of J. Stein is unclear, but some believe that she was the wife of a Chess Records executive, who received royalties as part of the arrangement to get the record released on the Chess label. Nearly all of the group's material was original, so the BMI credit to Landersman may also be more contractual than factual.
