Two Auburn oldies presumably specially selected for bootlegging for their northern-style bounce-ability. "Bass Keeps Pumpin" filters a horn loop under the hacked-about tracky rap loop of the title & lights up off the end of a whizzy build, much in the mould of many late 90s/early noughties ones. "Screwdriver" counts down into a swung bassline & doodles about a bit before fingerpoking into a stabbed-out synth riff that I presume lifts the roofs off in Wigan every time. These ones reminded me how much influence the straight-up hard house lot had on bounce, but also the reason the bounce crowd demanded their own variations - both tracks have their moments, their builds etc, but they feel like high-quality filler to me, to chuck in between the really really catchy ones & the giant breakdowns. Must have got some people thinking about where they could take it next though...
