Notes

Case bound album, inspired by the albums for 78rpm shellac records in the library of La Fabrique, France
32 pages of artwork
The 11 track album on two heavyweight 12" vinyl records
Two compact discs: one with the album and one with two extra tracks
Recording tape belly band applied *

* This is a piece of a Radiohead ½ inch master tape from an actual recording session.
The tape degrades over time and becomes unplayable. We thought rather than it ending up as landfill we would cut it up and make it useful as a part of the special edition. A new life for some obsolete technology...
Each loop contains about ¾ of a second of audio - which could be from any era in the band's recording past going back to Kid A.

Absolute terrible sounding pressing, just like every other version of this album on vinyl i've heard. And i've owned the black, white and this pressing. Recently sold the black one and i think i might sell this SE as well. The white one sounds the best, but it's still the worst sounding RH album on vinyl. Which is pretty strange, because the digital version sounds excellent and their analog counterparts are always better sounding. An example are the incredible sounding In Rainbows boxset, TKOL Newspaper edition and the 45rpm pressing of HTTT.

Beautiful packaging.
Vinyl pressing quality isn't great. Mines came with a lot of dirt.
The master of this vinyl is hot but manageable with EQ. Sounds nice.

My take is that if you buy, It's going to be a 50/50 shot of whether or not you're getting a clean copy. Mine was a pre-order directly from WASTE. After a multitude of cleanings there is still a horrid distortion especially in the string sections of the songs. The CD that comes with it sounds much better then the LP's and that's just unacceptable. I'd highly recommend buying the standard version and simply replacing the disks with that if you end up getting unlucky.

With that being said the packaging is beautiful and looks great on the shelf. Just please be aware!

Seems to be hit and miss going by the comments, for what it is worth my copy is perfection personified, as good as the Amnesiac pressing. Clear, each instrument heard clear as a bell. Few pops when i first played it, but after a good brush this thing is all i could have hoped for. Best bass sound yet for radiohead. No Complaints.

Honestly, not sure why all the bad reviews. Maybe it is really hit or miss, but mine is spectacular. I ordered directly from WASTE, and have been playing it regularly since the release, it is truly an amazing overall package and the vinyl is dead silent. You can hear all of the subtle sounds and back ground vocals that create their unique sound on this album. The only regret is that I didn't order 2 at the time!

Wow man, I got to say I'm blown away by the feedback written on this version, so much that I felt the need to bring some justice into it. I got mine directly from WASTE, I ordered it like a second after they started selling on the website. As everyone should know, the packaging is stunning, truly premium presentation and crafted with solid materials, you honestly get what you are paying for.

Getting into the record, at a first listen there was some noise going on, but very tolerable, I noticed rich textures, a well defined bass and stunning orchestrated sections. After that, I did some cleaning just using my regular kit, and all the noise went away. I gotta say I have never had any problems with the album and much less never get any distortion as some people commented above.

I purchased my copy from a merch table in April of 2017, then shelved it until this evening.

The overall packaging and presentation is stunning, but just as the others have stated, the pressing is terrible. The first disk has a rash on both sides, the spindle hole of both records is far too small, and the pressing itself sounds terrible. Decks Dark, Burn the Witch, and others are badly distorted.

Very, very disappointed...mostly because I love this record.

Shame. This is a great album. And I love Radiohead. But this pressing is surface-noisy as fk. I take excellent care of my records and have been collecting for 20+ years.. perhaps you hipsters don't know the difference, but I do; I have an extensive collection and it is not my setup. I bought this (the deluxe version) direct from waste. Beautiful album. Beautiful packaging. But I hate listening to this ultra crap pressing. I hope Radiohead do make another album and I also hope that they get someone involved in QA to get it right next time.

I got mine direct from waste too and it's spot on. An absolute beaut of a record.
