Baraonda (Plastifikate D.J. Ricci - M.C. Hair Remix) is a fantastic fusion of Hard Trance, Happy Hardcore and Techno. The throbbing Techno synth line gets the track going from the very start, the beat used is hard, punchy but with a Hard Trance feel to it. The main melody is a delightful string section that works very effectively, this is coupled with the vocals of Ramirez, and while I have difficulty understanding what he is saying (at the best of times), the aggressiveness seems to add to the track rather than distract. I like the second half of the string melody where the sound becomes even more uplifting. As an excellent contrast, the middle of the track takes the initial throbbing Techno sound and converts it into a speedy synth and really adds extra energy to the whole affair. The string melody makes a welcome return to round off the track. DJ Ricci and MC Hair are probably underrated and even though their Hardcore stint was brief, this fantastic remix is proof they were good producers. I always wanted to know what the hell Plastifikate means, according to the internet, it's an Italian feminine plural of plastic coated i.e, to laminate something!
