From a British perspective , 'Jack The Groove' was possibly, for many, one of the first House records heard. This record invaded the British charts in the later part of 1986 despite it being almost an instumental with only the three words from the title sung in a sample like fashion. With a clean cut bassline and simple drum patterns it was hard to ignore.
Of course it annoyed the older generation who couldn't understand this new form of 'High Energy' and it's lack of soul. For us in the know however it opened doors to a whole new world of music, doors that could never be closed.
