Impressive sound quality on this pressing, probably one of the best I own. Crystal clear with no popping or crackling whatsoever.

I was really impressed with version - I wasn't sure what to expect going by the mixed reviews here but it's exceed my expectations by quite a bit. The pressing itself is very solid - not perfect but there's nothing that gets in the way of enjoying the album and the mastering is really impressive, though that's no surprise given Grundman's track record. The bass absolutely pops on this pressing and the guitars have a lovely, funky twang to them. Kiedis' vocals have a small touch of sibilance at times but nothing too significant and, compared with the original CD copy I got to know the album by (which sounded fine in its own right) this version sounds excellent and really impresses generally.

I am not disappointed with the pressing of this LP. The SQ is also very good.

Must be something wrong with your pressings. Sound quality is excellent on my 140 gram copy, Great dynamics ,great headroom, Nice deep bass, clear drum sound, superb instrument separation. Flat and quiet, dead center. Great job by Bernie and Optimal.

This is a terrible pressing! Where do I start? The sound is dull, flat and lifeless throughout, compression is apparent all the way through, in some cases drum beats are almost entirely lost to it. The vinyl is cheap and noisy, the pressing is off centre, there is audible underfill in places, strange noise in random places, where some tracks on the album mix into the next, on this pressing the transitions between tracks are not smooth and seamless. It starts between track 1 and 2, between The Power of Equality and If You Have To Ask, the first note of IYHTA is a bit too early, out of IYHTA, Breaking the Girl starts too early. After I Could Have Lied, instead of the last note sustaining gently out until Mellowship Slinky crashes in, ICHL comes to an abrupt stop, there is a momentary pause and then Mellowship crashes in, same again after Under the Bridge, the last note should hold and sustain for a few seconds before Naked in the Rain should crash in but instead, the last note ends abruptly, there is a momentary pause then Naked in the Rain starts, also this sounds like the tape has suffered as it's very warbly sounding in the High-Hat at the beginning.
Overall I would give this a 2/10. It's a poor, poor pressing, clearly a hastily thrown together master from an inferior source. It sounds nothing like the CD version I have become accustomed to for the last 25 years and the flow and feel of it is completely lost. Most albums I have on CD and vinyl sound as good as or way better on vinyl but this one completely bucks this trend. It's being returned to Amazon.

Same pressing as this one :
https://www.discogs.com/fr/Red-Hot-Chili-Peppers-Blood-Sugar-Sex-Magik/release/3426244
but on 140g vinyl.
Same matrix informations and the sound quality is the same. Can't see any difference...
No insert and blank inner sleeves.
