OK I have a theory on this record, hear me out.

I think it has recently had a repress (in secret) and it is being drip sold by the label owner, making him a lot of money in the process

I contacted and bought the record from The-Wicked-One, who currently has this record for sale for €99. He is the owner of Research Records in Frankfurt

I tried to press him on where he got the records. He said he found a load of them in a box

Now consider this. The-Wicked-One has sold at least 20 copies of this record on Discogs in 2016. That’s not to mention the other websites he is selling them on. That’s quite a lot to just find in a box. This is a 20 year old record, and the one I bought looks pristine, like any other record that was pressed in 2016

If he is the label owner, he probably has the masters. Why would he not just press another few hundred copies and sell them slowly?

Maybe I’m wrong, maybe he did just find a box of them laying around. But I think it would be fair to let us know how many new copies have just come on to the market, before anyone pays over the odds for a copy. The-Wicked-One please feel free to reply on here

Bosch's groove and the hypnotic melody is super nice. It glides smoothly into any mix and explodes later with the hats and the kick. Simple but awesome and it's from 96 but still working, which makes it a timeless and pretty rare record.

I disagree with the "hype" thing, because I always listened up when Bosch appeared in a set, long before I knew what it was or who made it. It's just a damn fine track to dance to if you're into this kind of stuff.

the tracks on this release are subject to constant misidentification as a result of mislabelled mp3s. MDMA is the rushy, energetic side; Bosch is the rolling one with the big bassline. see track times above and compare with your files: cyberhippie's comment is referring to the actual MDMA, not Bosch (unlike the rest here).

i like this release. i really do. especially "Bosch". but i must admit that some_great_reward's comment is pretty accurate.

i tried to listen to these tunes several times on special occasions ;) and they always bored the hell out of me.
and to say "MDMA" is "schizophrenic"... well it's as far from the truth as one can get. Plastikman's "Disconnect" is schizophrenic, or J.T.C.'s "Sound of Winedrinking". "MDMA" isn't.

"record for a tea party" is a bit too harsh though. it fits well in any modern tech house set.
it won't cause damage to your brain but will definitely make you move your buttocks as if you've got snakes in your pants.

ps//repress it already!

I find this record really boring. Don't understand the hype about it. In deviation to another commentator's review i couldn't find the best climax of all times in here. Perhaps you must be a big fan of Villalobos' style and taste in order to like this record but the average techno junkie goes asleep with this. Klonky childish sound over a mean shuffled rhythm is all this on has to give. No extasy, no mindblowing build-ups, no real fun. Just boredom. A record for a tea party, instead you could (should) use coffee. And make sure you take the strongest you can find! Don't buy it for more than a few bucks! It's not worth it.

This record is just unbelievable!!
DJ Dimitri played it for the first time at a Chemistry party at Escape in Amsterdam and the crowd just went crazy.
The track MDMA is, I think, one of the best climax tunes of all time, acid-like, schizophrenic, very original and totaly rocking progressive punk-techno. It's hard to discribe this track in words, you got to hear and feel this track on the dancefloor, LOUD!!.
Ricardo Villalobos's best tune ever!!
