Rick's second release on Laid is a consistent and a reliable offering, with the opening track being a rather simple and straightforward yet fairly dark, fast paced workout with some malicious strings and some cheeky spoken word. Things do seem to slow down a notch with "Naomi" as a destinctly mellow groove is introduced, while the closing "No Place", especially on subsequent listens, reveals a somewhat overcast and misty air about it, one that's thoroughly engaging and enjoyable though. Another excellent Laid release.
