Here's an avant garde album certainly to drive anyone nuts. Robert Ashley was one of the few American artists who recorded for the Italian Cramps label, a label better known for such prog rock/fusion acts as Area and Arti & Mestieri. This 1974 album was recorded in America, and I found it very interesting that this album never received an American release. I'm sure some small California-based label could have been interested (the album was recorded in California), so how he got a deal with an Italian label, I cannot say. This guy just keeps babbling for the entire length of the album of various historical figures and frequently inserting words like "ironically" and "very titanically" against a backdrops of whacked out synths sounds. That's what you get and this guy never shuts up! I find this album hilarious, but I also dig those strange synthesizer sound effects and odd percussion. A great album to clear out parties!
