After having listened to many many different compilations, I've really noticed (especially after listening to this one) that each compilation series is completely unique in style from one another. DJ Tiesto's "In Search of Sunrise," Armin's "A State of Trance," Armin's Earlier Mixes ("Boundaries of Imagination," 001 A State of Trance," 002 Basic Instict, etc.), Sasha & Digweed's compilations ("Communicate," the "Northern Exposure" series, etc.), DJ Dede & DJ Micha's "The Abyss," Danny Zee's "Trancescapes," DJ Tiesto's "Magik," etc... All of these compilations possess qualities that are unique to themselves. These "Nokturnel," compilations take it to a whole new level - and there are plenty of them. This one is mixed by Robert Oleysyck, however there are others mixed by Blue Amazon, Bill Hamel, DJ Moda, Scott Stubbs, and DJ OS2. Any true connoisseur of electronic dance music should explore each installation of the Nokturnel Mix Sessions. They have provided me with much satisfaction.

On this release specifically, there are two tracks I'd like to speak about. Firstly, there's the "HH Remix" of Seafield's "Feel Free." The track is quite excellent, especially when it comes to the bass. There is this one bass instance that comes in on the first beat of each bar. Excellent, excellent, excellent. In addition to that track, the track immediately following it, Dominion's "Ultraviolet" (I believe that it is the Full Bloom Mix, but it is unlabeled...) is also fantastic - it posses quite an interesting melody unlike many other tracks that I have heard.

Anyway, I highly recommend this compilation (as well as all of the other compilations that I've mentioned).
