Dark and brooding Robin Trower's excellent album combines a hard rock and psychedelic sound with a solid rhythm section on this seminal classic from 1974. Trower's playing is obviously Hendrix influenced but not so much as to earn the moniker of imitator. Significantly, the songs are tight and while the solos are never brief they never seem self-indulgent, a rare virtue for a power trio of that era.

A great penultimate pick for a hard drinking party or to have digitally in the car for ominous late afternoon thunderstorms on mountain back roads.

this LP is likely one of the reasons that GOATSNAKE have a song simply titled "Trower"
