Sounds digital, because it is. I bought this to replace my original US copy because I assumed, with the folks and process involved, it would sound light years beyond that version. I was horribly wrong. Buyer beware, unless your ears can’t discern the difference.

Analogue tape to 96/24 transfer and dynamic compression (squashed) by Stephen Marcussen before being half-speed mastered by Miles Showell.

I’m curious about the download that came with this. Is It also from the half-speed mastering process or a previous incarnation of the album?

My copy of this is CRAZY noisy on all four sides despite clening efforts, a real surface noise bonanza! Anyone else have the same problem?

This is cut from the compressed digital version of the worn out tapes. The same one on Apple Music, Spotify, etc. This honestly makes no sense.

I really love Abbey Road reissues on the half speed .. but I must say that they messed up this time . The bass is very strong almost too strong and the press is quiet ... I don't really like it .. it's like clean and very subtle.. Not what you want from a stones album. I ve also compared it to a German first press and you can hear a huge difference with the German kicking the s hit out with its crisp highs and striking dynamic .. Didn't hear the first uk press but that's another subject. It's like comparing a small school boy with a high school rocker .. Sorry Abbey .. didn't score this one time. Cheers

It doesn't matter how slow you master, it's still from "Digital transfers made from the original ¼” MONO masters (with edits)"
