This is my favourite Stones album. There are some great songs here, especially Heartbreaker and Angie and I love the artwork. Its the last album which features the guitar skills of Mick Taylor. 100 years, Coming down again and Silver train are also fine Stones and the only one I'm not so keen on is the brash Star Star. It is a reflective album, no hint of commercialism. More consistent than Exile, tidier and less dark than Sticky fingers and more complex than Let it bleed. While Its only Rock and Roll is more exuberant they put too many average fillers. If you don't know this album give it a go and prepare to be pleased!

I won this album on the radio. Listened to it quite a bit. Replaced the posters on my wall of Donnie Osmond with the poster inside this album.

I don't get the hate on this album. It may not be Sticky Fingers, but compared to so much of the garbage these days, it's a knock-out. I also find it a very consistent album and quite listenable. None of these tracks have been overplayed, so they sound fresh. Furthermore, since it doesn't have the reputation of Exile, I don't feel any pressure to gain some higher understanding of the universe when I listen to it. It's just a plain good rock and roll.
