In 1982 the lovely Armageddon Records offered an offer via NME in England selling 10 of their albums for £9.99- guess that is around $6 by mail order. You didn't know whose records you would be sent , you were roughly aware their roster of talent . My Mum, sadly no longer with us, said to me in when I voiced my intention " That is just your heavy, isn't it?!" -a Liverpudlian/English expression meaning "right up your street". This was my favourite by far, jazzy, smoky, atmospheric, not a million miles from Robbie Robertson's " Somewhere Down The Crazy River" . I just love " in sleep an engineer builds a bridge between the islands of solitude and satisfaction " in Ron's lovely spoken baritone which as a 20 yr old Merseysider I could, of course, never emulate. Still have all 10 albums, despite donating about 80% of my vinyl 6 or 7 yrs ago. Thanks also to Armageddon for introducing me to the brilliant Pylon, Danny Adler, Kevin Dunn & the regiment of Women, Radio Free Europe, Blurt ...among others..explore & enjoy.
