For her second album, BRASIL PRECISA BALANCAR, Rosalia de Souza loses Nicola Conte as a producer and gains Roberto Menescal instead, and the results are much more mellow, more steeped in jazz. The opening track "Onde Anda O Meu Amor" certainly points that direction, and even as Toco lends his vocals to "Vos da Lapa" and "Men Que Seja A Nado," it's still de Souza's show. Marcos Valle pops into the exceedingly pleasant "Que Bandeira" -- though 'pleasant' could describe almost any track on this album. "Jogo de Roda" goes in for some rhythmical variation, going from quick to slow and back again, while "Agarradinho" swoons into a romantic mood. The flutes and horns on "Rio de Janeiro" and "Vivo Sonhando" give them a light feel, and "O Que E Amar" close the album on a sweet note, this time acoustic. So nice, it could be a handshake.
