Some music gains favor with me as I listen to it more, and I discover what I had previously been missing. This one worked in the opposite direction, because there is nothing to discover. I was initially rather pleased with the catchy sounds of UK funky you could find throughout this mix on clever tracks such as "Squark VIP" and "Aqua Riddim", just annoyed at the commercial style. This concern has become a bigger issue on repeated listens. For one, I find it incredibly detracting to have that repeating "Roska" sample that plays over and over. The overall approach is way too simple, easy, and immature, and lends itself to limited or no replayability.

He starts the mix with a series of pop-based tracks (e.g Katy B), and fills the middle of the mix with more accessible, unambitious, and almost stupid music. It's meant to be catchy, melodic and effortless. Like most pop music it is built for the first impression and lacks the depth for a more thorough exploration.

Roska needs to build on the simple yet effective style found on Squark and Aqua Riddim. Cut back on the vocals, on the melodic hooks, and the irritating, cheap, soundbites. Give the listener a challenge, instead of giving him or her everything all at once.
