Judging from the cheesy cover photo & title one would expect over-orchestrated bedroom soul à la Barry White but in fact this is a very traditional soul album that sounds like it could have been recorded a decade earlier at Stax.
No orchestra, no desperate attempts at disco...instead we get a mix that features guitars and organ prominently, adds a healthy dose of horns and places Roy C. Hammond's vocal delivery up front where it should be. Fans of true soul music should check out this unpretentious and emotionally honest album.
