If asked "Which 10 records would you bring to a remote island?", this would definitely be one of them.
It's not an easy album with some edgy and Industrial sounds, and yet it assembles gems like "I Love You (Restrained In A Moment)", certainly one of the best love songs to be put on a cassette for your loved one, followed by almost upbeat "Dark And Light" and "Radio Egypt". Side two kick starts with "Discipline", which is so funky you can listen to it in a convertible on your way to the seaside. "Power Of Will" is a wonderful ballad with impressive Keane vocals and "Motherland" is surely comparable to 'Giant' by The The, another outstanding track of which I have the fondest of memories from a club in Berlin. Altogether a brilliant post-punk goes electro-pop album with melancholic moments.
