My 2-Star review is not for the album itself, but for this release on cassette. I've come across some cheaply made cassettes, but this one is special. The build quality is poor. The clear window is one step up from Saran Wrap. One bad handling of this cassette and you're likely to damage the tape if not only the windows itself. The red plastic of the cassette body is also low quality. Then there is the quality of the tape itself: regular ol' ferro tape. This would be fine, but there is no noise reduction used on the tape. The artwork and j-card are beautiful. This leads me to think the listener wasn't considered in the production of this release as much as the quick RSD buck.

Maybe it's just me, but in 2017 if you release an album on cassette as a limited edition alongside other formats they should be comparable in quality. If I were to buy the LP I shouldn't be able to make a better recording on cassette than the one that was officially released (on similar quality tape). We have CD and 180 gram "audiophile vinyl". If we're going to see more cassette releases I would hope they are taken more seriously than this one. This is borderline toy-like in quality. Cassettes came a long way at their demise and should be picked up where they left off. They should be created as they were when they started (as is the case for this one.)
