Audiophile pressing. LOL. As notec said, United don't have the first clue about quality pressings. Shame because it's well recorded and mastered by and large. I've played this with 2 different cartridges, a Benz Micro Glider which makes this record difficult to listen to and a Dynavector Karat 17D2 which makes it at least tolerable. I would have expected it to be the other way around as the DV is the more revealing of the 2.

I would like to know more about everyone's thoughts on this pressing. I am extremely dissatisfied with the sound. I even cleaned the record on Nitty Gritty and played with a clean styli the very first time I gave it a spin. It sounds as if I had been playing it with dust bunnies all over my stylus. I would appreciate anyone's comments or thoughts regarding what @BigBear63 had to say regarding styli. I have a Shure N92E stylus. I know it's not the most expensive, but it's not the very bottom of the barrel either. Honestly, every other record in my collection sounds fine with this stylus so I'm curious what gives in this instance. All that being said, recommendations on styli that won't break the bank are welcome as well.

Mikaul reckons this pressing sounds weird with elliptical styli. I've purchased a copy through a seller on Amazon Marketplace. I've played it with Ortofon Blue elliptical stylus and can't hear any unusual erroneous sounds. In fact the album is very dynamic, the vocals a crystal clear, the trebles are distinct, percussion is sharp and the bass reproduces particularly well. I would say that my copy isn't perfectly flat, even with a screw down platter weight but there are no discernible adverse effects.

I've got the US LP, but the second album side B has a kings of leon label... this worth anything?

gah - wrong album :-$ this re-issue aint as nice as the European pressings. Some weird groove noise when played with elliptical stylii. round tips might not be so bad...
