Although STL's catalog ranges from drone/ambient to techno house, let's be honest, Stephan Laubner's best hat to wear is made of a fabric called dub techno. "At Disconnected Moments" is a delicious dubby treat similar to the 2009 "Dub Techno Explorations." The first two tracks offer a solid start with their brooding, dark and minimal muted Maurizio-esque vibe. That's not to say "Space Cats" doesn't keep it real either. In fact as a whole this album keeps the dark hiss-filled echo chamber feel alive. Since it has been 5 years since the last STL blatantly-professed dub techno album, this is a significant release demonstrating that Laubner is still running strong regardless of the style he chooses, but hopefully there will be more dub techno to come in the future.
