Extract from my French Independent & Underground Obscurities article in Audion 56 (2010): With a history going back to an early-1970's band called Poseïdon, Saïno were established in 1976 as Dyonisos, playing a mixture of British styled rock 'n' blues, then moving into jazz-rock territory. The band had evolved in various formations, with ex-Poseïdon members returning, before they settled as Saïno. With all that history and refinement behind them, by the time they got to make an LP they'd developed a complex style all of their own, indebted to the 1970's masters true, but with a fresh vitality, adventurousness and diverse elements that add up to a rare unique gem.
