Sabicas (1912-90) was one of the greatest flamenco guitarists of all time, and a major influence on all his successors (most notably Paco de Lucía)

This 1963 album is one of the best of all his solo records, which is saying a great deal; but I believe it was released in both stereo and mono, so make sure you get the stereo version (ABCS-451, not ABC-451). If you do, you'll find that some numbers are double-tracked, with one guitar coming out of each speaker — the best stereo separation I've ever heard.

“El cantábrico”, a departure from Flamenco, is a brilliantly played medley of pipe tunes from Sabicas's youth in Pamplona.

As far as I’m aware, this album has never been released on CD. The total time is 34'24".
