Underrated later Trax 12", esp. the b-side dubs, which sound much earlier than 1989. Easy to see its appeal to Rub N Tug who did an edit a while back.

Fairly stripped down, minimal early house. I liked this track and remembered it as one of the few good ones on an old Telstar compilation. I've never been able to discover much detail about it... Samurai Sam is an elusive one.

For anyone interested, I got a Japanese friend to translate the sampled Japanese voice which is used heavily throughout the track. I thought it could be something deep and meaningful. Turns out she's saying: "Excuse me, I'd like to drink one more cup of coffee. I would like to drink a cup of coffee. Do you speak English?"
